Emporium opens an exciting new door in British theatre venues. A great space with limitless potential for performance and serving the local community.
Our Patron - actor & director Alan Rickman
Emporium is a theatre, café, bar, exhibition and hub for theatre and movie professionals and enthusiasts alike. When you visit Emporium you will discover, all under one roof:
- Our theatre – the atmosphere of our magnificent warehouse theatre space helps the drama come alive.
- Our café – open all day every day, serving a range of healthy meals, snacks and indulgent treats. All within the grandeur of a wonderful old church!
- Our bar – the place to relax, socialise and network. Open every evening, whether we have a show playing or not.
- Our exhibitions – a chance to peek behind the scenes at incredible props, stunning theatre costumes and set pieces from famous movies.
Emporium really is the place for lovers of film and theatre to relax, network and get creative.
We are currently enjoying our first full year of in-house productions and collaborations; a programme that includes Beckett's Endgame, Orton's Entertaining Mr. Sloane, Sondheim's Into The Woods and following on from the huge success of Cinders, our pantomime last year, our second traditional original Christmas fairytale Sleeping Beauty.
Having only opened our doors in May 2013 we are already well on the way to achieving our next ambition - that of becoming Brighton's Regional Rep Theatre.
We have many plans, great and small, for improving Emporium, from upgrading our existing seating in both the café and theatre to creating a magnificent frontage worthy of what is rapidly becoming such an important building. If you enjoy what we have achieved so far and would like to help us move forward just click on this 'donate' button and pledge whatever you would like. Every little (and, let's face it, big) helps.
Please accept our enormous thanks and appreciation in advance.
